This policy explains what information ClearInvoices (clearinvoices.in) handles when you use the website.

1. No account, no signup

You can create invoices without any account and without giving any personal details. What you type (business name, GSTIN, addresses, customer details, items, UPI ID, bank details, logo, signature, notes and template) is kept in your own browser while you work. Your browser also remembers your business details and your last draft on your device so that you do not have to type them again. You can turn this off with the "Remember my business details" box, or remove it with "Clear saved details".

When an invoice is saved on our server: when you download, share or copy the link of an invoice, that invoice, including any bank details and signature you added to it, is saved on our own server so that it can get its invoice number and its short link. Anyone who has the invoice link can see these details, so add bank details only if you want your customers to see them. We do not ask for your email or name for this. To limit misuse we keep a one-way hash of your network (IP) address with request counts; the address itself is not stored.

My invoices: your browser keeps a random private key. We store only a one-way hash of that key with your saved invoices, so that "My invoices" can show them on the same browser. If you clear your browser data, you can no longer list or manage those invoices, but their links keep working until we delete them. To have a particular invoice removed, email us the invoice number or link.

Short links: every saved invoice gets a short random link. Anyone who has the link can see that invoice, so share it only with the people you want. In "My invoices" you can turn a link off. Invoice pages are not meant for search engines.

Plans: if you tell us you are interested in a paid plan, we save your email address and that choice so that we can email you when paid plans start.

Invoice numbers: invoices saved on our server get their numbers from one common series for all users, so the numbers of one business may not be consecutive.

2. Information we may collect automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider and analytics or advertising partners may collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited and time spent.

3. Advertising and cookies

We may show ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com and learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

4. Third-party services

This website uses Google Fonts and the cdnjs network (for a QR code library). These services may receive your IP address when your browser loads them.

5. UPI payments

The UPI QR code is created inside your browser from the UPI ID you enter. We do not process, see or store any payment. Please check your UPI ID carefully before sharing an invoice.

6. Children

This website is not meant for children under 18.

7. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may ask about, correct or delete personal data we hold about you. To have any saved invoice or your saved plan choice deleted, email contact@clearinvoices.in.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
